From the Netherlands: there are two good options: either take the night boat which will save you driving through Denmark, or drive all the way and make a road trip out of it..
Stenaline has a night boat from Kiel in Germany to Gotenburg in Sweden. The departure is end of afternoon/early evening and you arrive in the morning. From Gothenburg it is a relaxed 4-5 hrs drive to Skålviken.
It is about 1.600 km from Amsterdam by car if you drive all the way. You can take the ferry from Puttgarden in Germany to Rødby in Denmark and then either the Øresund toll bridge from Kopenhagen to Malmö, or another ferry from Helsingor to Helsingbør. Mind that the ferry and bridge are cheaper if you book in advance.
From Oslo: an easy 3 hours drive.
From Stockholm: a little bit over 4 hours by car.
By air: you can easily fly to Gotenburg, Stockholm or Oslo and rent a car. You can also take public transport from these cities. There are direct trains to Karlstad from which you can take a bus further on.
